Evidence
Understand how account mentions are extracted from project documents and linked to accounts.
Evidence is how Parcel connects accounts to projects. When a document is parsed, Parcel extracts mentions of companies and organizations and links them to the projects those documents belong to. These mentions become the evidence record for an account’s project participation.
What evidence shows
For each project an account is connected to, Parcel records:
- The document the mention was found in (e.g. an entitlement application, a permit filing)
- The role the account was mentioned in (e.g. “Architect of Record”, “Prepared by”)
- An excerpt from the document showing the context of the mention
The evidence drawer
The evidence drawer on an account’s project record shows the raw source excerpt alongside the extracted role. This lets you verify Parcel’s attribution and see exactly what the public record says.
How it is used
Evidence is how Parcel distinguishes between accounts that are on a project roster and those that are peripherally mentioned. Only accounts with direct role mentions in project documents are linked as participants.
